Nazareno Nicoletti


He was born in Ischia in the bay of Naples in 1988 and graduated at Italian National film School after a degree in Modern Literature. As filmmaker he made shorts and feature films on the edge between reality, fiction and experimentation. In 2015 his first documentary feature “Moj Brate” was in competition in the Filmmakers of the Present in Locarno Film Festival. Four years later he won the rough cut lab at Visions Du Reél with his second feature Up To Down in competition for the Crystal Globe at the 54th Karlovy Vary film Festival. In 2020 He was selected for Berlinale Talents during the Berlin Film Festival, an annual summit reserved for emerging talents from cinema and serial production. He is an EFA member, the Academy with the common aim of promoting European film culture. These activities culminate in the annual presentation of the European Film Awards.
