Paolo Santamaria

Born in 1990, passionate about cinema since childhood. Abruzzese by birth (and by choice) with a pinch of Albanian origins (from father). He graduated in directing and filmmaking at Centro Sperimentale Di Cinematografia. Director and Art director for hugely successful ministerial communication campaigns, he won in 2017 the Aretê Prize, the Press Jury Prize and the Public Communication Prize, for the “Art looks like you” campaign. Thanks to the video clip “Solo una canzone” he obtained in 2019 the Soundies Award, as best video clip of Sanremo festival. With the video clip “Dormo poco e sogno molto” he participates in 2020 to more than 30 festivals around the world, including three Academy Award® qualifying festivals, winning various awards. He made his theatrical debut in 2019, with the feature film “Siamo come Genova” and then returned to the big screen in 2020 with “La piazza della mia città”, which sees, among others, the participation of Gianni Morandi and Matilda De Angelis. He realized in 2020 the short movie “Da capo”, starring Nicola Nocella, already winner of two silver ribbons and candidate for the David di Donatello.
