Lao is an elderly who lives in a new residential village following an earthquake that destroyed his village and his home, erasing his memories and his past and causing him to fall into loneliness and bewilderment. The searching for an old harmonica lost under the old village’s rubbles becomes for Lao a metaphor of a search for what has been lost, both outside and inside him, and of a reconciliation with nature and its laws.
