SYNOPSIS
Naturae explores the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world through the physical traces left on the landscape over time. From ancient rock engravings to abandoned industrial sites, the film shows how human progress has gone hand in hand with an increasingly intensive exploitation of natural resources. Stone becomes homes, tombs, aqueducts, and places of worship; wood turns into tools, dwellings, and means of transport; water is reshaped into dams and infrastructures. These transformations reflect both human ingenuity and the growing cost of development. Without narration or interviews, Naturae relies on images, natural sound, and music to portray centuries of interaction between humanity and the environment. The result is a silent reflection on a paradox: nature made human evolution possible, yet today bears the scars of a relationship that has shifted from coexistence to irreversible exploitation.
