Gaetano De Luca is an experimental physicist who is interested in the subsoil, studying its history and monitoring its evolution. His existence swings among dozens of seismic probes scattered throughout Central Italy’s territory and his five children, who bring him back to real life every evening. But Gaetano’s thought is constantly enraptured by his theories, his studies and his researches. He noticed, years earlier, in the subsoil of L’Aquila city, a particular anomaly but no one wanted to listen to him. A few years later, the entire city of L’Aquila was destroyed by a violent earthquake which could have caused less damages, if only Gaetano’s cry of alarm would have been heard.
